Hawker centres are a vegan’s best friend in Singapore — with the right know-how, you’ll eat like royalty.
- 🍲 Yong Tau Foo — customise your bowl with tofu, vegetables, and fish-free broth at most stalls
- 🥗 Thunder Tea Rice (Lei Cha) — a Hakka classic packed with herbs, tofu, and mixed grains
- 🌶️ Roti Prata plain — crispy flatbread with dhal curry is naturally vegan at most Indian Muslim stalls
- 🍛 Economy Rice (Cai Fan) — pick an all-vegetable plate with tofu, long beans, and brinjal options
- 🥜 Popiah — fresh spring rolls filled with jicama, carrots, and peanuts; ask for no egg or prawn
Always ask “no egg, no fish sauce, no oyster sauce” and most hawker stall uncles will happily accommodate.
